건축 영어공부/ 아키데일리가 선정한 2021년 최고의 건축물

 

 

연말이다 보니 여기저기서 올해 최고의 ~~ 이런 식으로 리스팅 업을 해서 많이 나오기 시작했어요. 연애대상이나 영화제도 시작하고 끝나고 하는 거 보면 2021년도도 정말로 얼마 안 남은 게 실감이 납니다.

 

 

오늘은 저의 이목을 끈 " archidaily뉴스에 있던 최고의 건축 프로젝트 2021 "

이 프로젝트 중 괜찮아 보이는 건축물을 정하여 모르겠는 단어와 중요 문장을 가지고 영어공부를 해보려고 합니다.

Three Stages for Air is a response towards a contradiction embedded in living on the equator; to be able to experience and enjoy the nuances of the tropical climate, yet simultaneously, to be protected from its extremes when required. 

 

contradiction : 모순 embedded : 내장형 equator : 적도 nuance : 뉘앙스 simultaneously : 동시에 extremes : 극한

 

; Tree Stages fo Air는 적도의 삶에 모순된 내장형 반응이다. ; 열대기후의 흔적을 즐기고 경험할 수 있게 하며, 동시에 필요할 땐, 극한으로부터 보호받을 수 있다.

 

 

Two entrances exist on the far ends of a radial ground-level apartment, one opens towards the exterior porch and the other opens towards the interior of the apartment complex, allowing tropical air to pass through laterally.

 

radial :  방사상의 porch : 현관 allowing : 들어오게[지나가게] 하다 

 

; 두개의 입구는 아파트 상층의 방사형의 끝단 먼 곳에 위치해있는데, 한 곳은 외부현관을 향하여있고 다른 하나는 아파트 단지의 내부로 이루어져 있으며, 말 그대로 열대 공기가 길을 따라 지나가도록 하였다.

 

 

Leveraging on the presence of equatorial air and breeze as a material, Three Stages for Air entangles the nuances of climate with the life of a young growing family by segmenting the main living space into three volumes. 

 

adial :  외부로부터 자본이나 자금 따위를 들여와서 이용하는 일. entangles : ~를 ~와 얽히게 만들다/얽힌[엉킨] 것

segmenting : 나누다, 분할하다

 

; 적도의 공기와 바람을 소재로 하여, Three Stages for Air는 주요 생활공간을 세 가지 볼륨으로 분할하여, 젊은 가족들의 삶을 기후와 얽히게 만든다.

 

 Portals wrapped in timber softly demarcate the air into three volumes, while three variations of ceilings are designed for each of the stages, making visible the qualities of air that they contain.

 

Portals : 정문[입구] demarcate : 경계를 표시하다 [정하다]variations : (특히 양·정도의) 변화[차이]

 

; 나무로 매끄럽게 감싸진 입구는 세 가지의 공간의 경계를 부드럽게 정해주고, 세 가지의 각 볼륨의 천장들은 각각 디자인이 되어 볼륨마다 공기의 특성이 보이게 만들었다. 

 

The third volume of the kitchen is designed with a lower, flat ceiling, encouraging intimacy and domestic life to be performed alongside cooler, conditioned, interior air. 

 

intimacy : 친밀함 domestic life : 집안 살림 alongside : …옆에, 나란히, …와 함께, …와 동시에 conditioned : 적합한

 

; 주방의 세 번째 볼륨은 낮고, 수평 천정이고 친밀함을 장려하며, 집안 살림을 함과 동시에 더 멋있고, 적합한 인테리어 공기로 디자인되었다. 

 

Towards the exterior, the ceiling is influenced by billowing and inflated air, taking shape as ceiling vaults that are porous. 

 

billow : 부풀어 오르다 vaults : 둥근[아치] 천장 porous : 다공성[투과성]의

 

; 외장으로 가면, 천장은 부푸름과 팽창된 공기에 영향을 받아 다공성의 아치형 천장의 모양이 형성됐다.

 

Two vaults are designed in a gradient perforated aluminum, filtering the bleaching equatorial sun into a hazy light suitable for work and relaxation. A center volume mixes conditioned and unconditioned air, light, and view. 

 

gradient : 경사도 perforated : 구멍이 난, 관통된 bleaching : 표백 hazy : 연무[실안개]가 낀, 흐릿한

 

; 두 개 아치 천장은 경사 알루미늄으로 디자인되었고, 적도에 표백된 태양을 흐릿한 빛으로 필터링하여 일과 심에 맞도록 하였다. 중앙 볼륨은 조건과 무조건적 공기, 빛과 경관을 섞었다.

 

Several devices are used to further modulate the experience of air and climate within the three stages.

; 몇몇의 기기들은  세 가지 단계로 공기와 기후의 경험을 조절하여 추후 사용된다.

 

Air-conditioning units provide quick cooling in unexpectedly hot afternoons through a gradient screen, mixing with natural ventilation in a hybrid form of air to comfort the inhabitants.

 

; 에어컨으로 예기치 않은 오후 더위에 경사진 스크린을 통한 급속냉동이 제공되며, 자연환기는 혼합형 공기의 형태로 거주자들을 편안하게 만들어준다.

 

Operable timber screens are used to intersect the movement of light and air from the exterior to the center as required, blocking views for privacy, while acoustically filtering the sounds of the exterior urban environment.

; 작동 가능한 목재 스크린은 필요에 따라 외부로부터 중앙으로 빛과 공기의 이동을 교차시켜 프라이버시를 위해 시야를 차단하는 동시에 외부 도시 환경의 소리를 음향적으로 필터링하는 데 사용된다.

 

Fabric filters modulate light and sound-producing a subtle, carefully constructed interior atmosphere.

;천으로 된 필터들은 감지하기 힘든 소리와 감지하기 힘든 빛을 조심스럽게 인테리어 공간에 조절하여 구성하였다.  

 

 

A minimal material palette and attention to detail, combined with the use of the simple architectural devices including the ceiling, screens, and doors, assist in making climate the main protagonist in Three Stages for Air.

오늘의 얼렁뚱땅 건축 영어 기사 해석 끝! (2시부터 4시까지...)ㅠㅠ

 

 

아직 단어장 하나하나 찾으면서 한글로 해석하는데, 너무 어려운 거 같아요. 외국어는 있는 순서 그래도 내가 받아들여야 하는데 기사 하나 제대로 읽는데 두 시간이나 걸리다니...  익숙해지면 시간제한을 두고 하는 걸로 챌린지를 해봐야겠어요.
